SITES stands for "Software & Information Technology Enterprise Series". It is a set of 8 modules I developed for presentation to high school computer and engineering classes in order to introduce them to topics and terms that they can expect to see in both college and career environments. Portions of this program have been demonstrated in a local high school computer programming class.
This project is currently in the works. I am in the process of creating a weather station that reports data accumulated by on-board sensors via LoRa technology. The system will consist of an airborne LoRa node utilizing a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B that will communicate with a ground-based LoRa gateway built using a Raspberry Pi Zero W. The end goal is to create a system that can be sent up via a weather balloon to altitudes in excess of 75,000 feet while recording weather data on a periodic, and reporting that data in addition to GPS coordinates to the ground using a MAX-M8Q positioning module.
The photo to the left is the current state of the project, and shows the following components:
Data from the sensors on the Sense HAT is currently pulled on a 5 second periodic and stored in JSON format. A picture is also taken at the time of reading the sensor data and stored on a local memory card.
I created this site that you are on now by utilizing the latest version of Google Sites, along with domain management via GoDaddy.
